How One Man Tricked the Persian Empire into a Naval Trap
Athens is in ashes. The Greek alliance is broken. All hope seems lost. After the fall of Thermopylae, King Xerxes and the Persian Empire stood on the verge of total victory. This is the story of the Battle of Salamis, the turning point of the Greco-Persian Wars. It's a tale of strategy, deception, and the power of a superior weapon in the hands of a superior crew. Discover the genius of the Greek trireme, the deadly bronze-tipped spear of the ancient seas, and witness the incredible act of treachery... against his own allies... that Themistocles used to trick Xerxes into the perfect trap.
From a golden throne, Xerxes watched in horror as his massive fleet was annihilated, not by a greater force, but by a greater mind. The REAL Reason Trump Blew Up A Venezuelan “Drug Boat”!
Donald Trump has openly admitted that U.S. policy toward Venezuela is driven by a desire to seize its vast oil reserves, while falsely framing military actions there as part of a drug war. In the latest effort at wielding influence over Venezuela, the U.S. military carried out a strike on a small vessel allegedly tied to drug trafficking, killing 11 people — this even though official data shows Venezuela is not a major drug route to the U.S.
The attack was clearly illegal under international law, amounted to extrajudicial killings, and represents part of a broader strategy to destabilize Venezuela through sanctions and military pressure. Jimmy highlights how oil, not narcotics, is the true motivation behind decades of U.S. efforts to overthrow Venezuelan governments.
